Grigoris Markou holds a PhD in Political Sciences from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His PhD thesis focuses on left-wing populism in power in Europe and Latin America.

 

He completed a postdoctoral research in the same school about populism, anti-populism and minorities in Greece.

He has received a BA in History and Ethnology from the Democritus University of Thrace and an MA in Political Analysis from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

 

He is an external associate in the research program "DEPRESPOP" at the University of Crete.

His research interests include: Argentinian politics, Greek politics, discourse analysis, populism, anti-populism and radical parties. He has published articles and chapters in international academic journals, collective volumes and global media platforms.
